Lenovo Scours Skies for "Sky Warriors" to Put New ThinkPad Twist Convertible to Test

Search to Equip Ten Frequent Flyers with Some of First Lenovo ThinkPad Twists
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC - October 22, 2012: To celebrate the unveiling of the new ThinkPad Twist, a slim convertible Ultrabook™ that twists seamlessly from touch screen laptop to tablet, Lenovo today announced a search to identify the nation’s top ten frequent flyers aka, “Sky Warriors.” During the next month, travelers who pride themselves on their extensive mileage balance can enter to win the innovative machine.

The Twist is part of the newest family of Lenovo convertibles that also includes the IdeaPad Yoga 13, the Yoga 11 and the IdeaTab Lynx.  At the forefront of the latest devices designed for Windows 8, the convertible computers are designed to move in unique ways, from bending and twisting to separating. They also enable new ways to use them for watching movies and playing games in modes like stand, which operates similarly to a photo frame. Twist, a high performance, convertible Ultrabook™, boasts exceptional business productivity and standout multimedia capabilities. Running Windows 8, it has a collection of features that are perfect for conducting business, creating content and consuming entertainment.

“Business travelers are seasoned experts in challenging work environments, especially in the skies,” said Matt Bereda, director, worldwide small-to-medium business product launch, Lenovo. “They know how to pack, race through security lines and get their work done under any condition. The Sky Warrior search will identify those who spend their lives in the air and who need more than a laptop – a true convertible PC – that is as flexible as they are.”

Unlike a traditional laptop, the Twist bends to fit the user’s environment, not the other way around. It has several different viewing modes, putting a new spin on full-size, full-performance computing. Twist suits those who roam the skies and depend on commercial jets to function both as a conduit to a destination and a mobile office.

Beginning October 22, frequent flyers can declare themselves as Sky Warriors by visiting the Lenovo Facebook page and entering the number of miles accrued through a single frequent flyer program between January 1, 2012 and September 30, 2012. The top ten verified mileage balances will receive a ThinkPad Twist and be dubbed “Sky Warriors.”
