NC State University Helps Curb Climate Change’s Effect on Food and Water Supply with AI

Agriculture accounts for about 70 percent of the total global freshwater consumption, but fluctuations in temperature and rainfall around the world are exacerbating the potential for drought and floods around the world. Even the most minor of environmental changes can be felt across the food and agriculture supply chain.

North Carolina State University’s (NCSU) research program, in partnership with Lenovo, is actively invested in addressing the effects of climate change on the agricultural ecosystem.

Lenovo Accelerates Artificial Intelligence Initiatives to Solve Humanity’s Greatest Challenges

DENVER – November 14, 2017Today, at Supercomputing 2017 (SC17), Lenovo (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY) Data Center Group announced new initiatives designed to empower customers to embrace Artificial Intelligence (AI) and make it a true reality for their organizations to achieve augmented intelligence capabilities for increased productivity and transformative results. Widely considered a strategic priority, 76 percent of respondents in a recent survey indicated that AI is fundamental to the success of their operation’s strategy, while 64 percent cited the technology as fundamental to their organization’s long-term growth.
