Lenovo Scholar Network Expands to 30 NAF Academies Enabling High School Students to Develop Mobile Apps

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC – August 27, 2015:  Building off the success of its inaugural 2014-2015 academic year with 10 high schools participating, Lenovo and NAF today announced 20 new NAF academies have been selected to participate in the Lenovo Scholar Network during the 2015-2016 academic year. The program, which is designed to enable the next generation of developers and entrepreneurs through a rich application development curriculum, will include 600-700 additional NAF students in its second year. Lenovo will provide each of the participating schools with Lenovo ThinkPad laptops and YOGA tablets that will be used to aid students in the coding, testing and development of their mobile apps and help teachers and mentors with the implementation of the curriculum.

NFL Sponsor Lenovo Launches Comedy Fantasy Football Video Series, ‘Fantasy Online College’; Premieres Today at Lenovo.com/NFL, Stars Eight NFL Stars and Comedian J.B. Smoove

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Aug. 25, 2015: NFL sponsor Lenovo today announced the launch of its comedy fantasy football video series, “Fantasy Online College” (FOC).  The digital show can be seen at www.lenovo.com/NFL and on www.SBNation.com and stars eight star NFL players and comedian J.B. Smoove – with Smoove as the chancellor of the fictional FOC and Odell Beckham, Jr., Jamaal Charles, Eric Decker, Matt Forte, Pierre Garçon, Eddie Lacy, DeMarco Murray and Demaryius Thomas as the school’s professors.  The FOC faculty’s focus: how to help their students improve their fantasy football skills.  But the students soon find that their fantasy education is less about statistics and setting lineups, and more about verbally one-upping the competition and personal branding.

Lenovo and SimpliVity Announce Alliance to Deliver Enterprise-Grade Hyperconverged Infrastructure Solutions

 RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. and WESTBOROUGH, M.A.— August 20, 2015 - Today, Lenovo (HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY) and SimpliVity announced they will deliver hyperconverged infrastructure solutions based on their joint technologies. SimpliVity’s OmniStack data virtualization platform will now be available as an integrated solution with Lenovo System x3650 servers through Arrow Electronics. The solution will be offered in the North America channel starting in the fourth quarter 2015.

Lenovo Starts Smartphone Manufacturing in India

New Delhi, August 18, 2015: Lenovo today announced that it will start the local manufacturing of smartphones in Sriperambudur, Chennai. For the current financial year, Lenovo and Motorola will generate a capacity of six million units. The Moto E has already started rolling out from the plant and the K3 note will follow very soon.
