RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C., May 26, 2005 – Lenovo today announced its latest desktop models, the ThinkCentre M52 and ThinkCentre A52. For the first time, ThinkCentre desktops will incorporate dual-core processing and 64-bit computing capabilities to support today’s most demanding business applications, from medical imaging and graphic design to complex statistical computation. This level of power and speed supports uninterrupted access to information and technology infrastructures that can support simultaneous operations for maximum productivity. The ThinkCentre M52 and A52 also come equipped with ThinkVantage Technologies that help make PCs easier for users to deploy, connect, protect and support. Utilizing the Embedded Security Subsystem, a hardware-based technology that encrypts vital security information, the ThinkCentre M52 and A52 provide strong protection against unauthorized access to information. Designed to meet the Trusted Computing Group’s Trusted Platform Module 1.2 standard, the systems meet security recommendations expected in Microsoft’s “Longhorn” operating system. In addition, Rescue and Recovery with Antidote Delivery Manager helps users restore or recover infected or deleted files. Antidote Delivery Manager, specifically, allows IT staff to easily deploy security updates and patches as well as manage access to the network to ensure PC security compliance, minimize downtime and decrease costs.
Utilizing Intel’s new “stable image” Professional Business Platform category that helps create secure, connected and agile work environments, the ThinkCentre M52 and A52 also offer the new 945G chipset with Intel® Pentium® 4 processor 600 sequence, Intel® Hyper-Threading capabilities for efficient multitasking and Intel® High Definition Audio to enhance collaboration tools, such as VoIP. Additionally, the ThinkCentre M52 and A52 are packaged with new Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950, delivering accelerated graphic capabilities for detailed design programs and streamlined video signal processing to help improve productivity in single or dual monitor environments. Intel® Active Management Technology and LANDesk Leverage ThinkVantage Technologies Lenovo plans to release future models of ThinkCentre desktops that will incorporate Intel® Active Management Technology, a hardware-integrated tool supporting advanced PC asset management. Active Management Technology can be used with applications such as LANDesk® Software’s Management Suite to optimize the functionality of ThinkVantage Technologies. The utilization of these tools will enable remote access and inventory of ThinkCentre M52 desktops even if the systems are powered down, or operating system is not responding, enhancing the effectiveness of asset deployment and management as well as decreasing costs from system downtime and otherwise necessary onsite IT support.

Lenovo plans to begin shipment of ThinkCentre models with Intel® Active Management Technology in the second half of 2005.
Additional Form Factors Continue Desktop Innovation Desktop configurations of the ThinkCentre A52 and M52 will be available in August 2005. Boasting 40 percent less volume size than traditional ThinkCentre desktops form factors, these smaller models also will offer users dual-core processing and 64-bit computing capabilities for advanced functionality and power.
