Global industry leaders discuss future of computing at strategic technology conference

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC and BEIJING, CHINA – May 13, 2015: Lenovo today announced that global technology industry leaders Brian Krzanich, CEO Intel, Satya Nadella, CEO Microsoft; and Robin Li, chairman and CEO Baidu will join Lenovo chairman and CEO Yang Yuanqing for the keynote address at Lenovo Tech World on May 28 in Beijing. These technology leaders will share their vision for disruptive computing opportunities, unveil innovative technologies closer on the horizon and discuss the role that partnerships play in creating a robust hardware and software ecosystem.

Lenovo Tech World is Lenovo’s first exclusive global technology event, bringing together thousands of fans, media, partners and suppliers around the world to learn more about the company’s perspective on emerging technologies, including wearables, smartphones, tablets, PCs, servers, software and cloud services. At Tech World, the company will unveil new product innovations that will change the way consumers use their devices today and provoke a dialogue on the future breakthrough concepts that will more dramatically change the way consumers live, work and play.

“Innovation is at the heart of everything we do and behind-the scenes, there is a great deal of research and development innovation that our fans never get to see,” said Yang Yuanqing, chairman and CEO, Lenovo. “At Lenovo Tech World, we intend to engage our guests with an insider’s perspective of where Lenovo technology is today, and where it is headed tomorrow.”

In addition to a glimpse of Lenovo’s upcoming research and technology products, Tech World will also articulate how Lenovo is changing itself as it has grown over the past decade from a $3 billion PC company that acquired IBM’s PC business, to a $39 billion technology leader, that last year acquired both Motorola Mobility and IBM’s x86 server business. While both of these recent acquisitions have boosted Lenovo’s presence in the smartphone and server markets respectively, at Tech World, Lenovo will discuss more about where technology will lead the company and consumers next.

Lenovo Tech World is being sponsored in part by Intel, one of Lenovo’s long-standing technology partners, and many of the products being discussed at Tech World are based upon the latest Intel technologies. Tech World attendees will get to touch a variety of new products, hear all about the new possibilities from our research and development teams, and see for themselves how Lenovo continues its transformation from the world’s #1 PC maker to a worldwide technology leader.
