RALEIGH, N.C. – September 27, 2006 – Lenovo today announced the latest model in its Lenovo 3000 desktop PC line-up – the Lenovo 3000 J115 desktop. The new model is one more way Lenovo is providing small business users an affordable, worry-free computing experience. The Vista-capable J115 desktop comes equipped with an AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 dual-core processor compatible with AMD’s socket AM2 platform, up to 4GB of DDR2 Memory and an optional 19” Widescreen LCD-TFT. “Small businesses are looking for a worry-free, reliable PC with no-fuss management at an affordable price,” said Thomas Tobul, executive director, Global Desktop Marketing, Lenovo. “The Lenovo 3000 J115 desktop helps growing businesses use the latest technologies to stay ahead of the competition by offering them the most advanced software and hardware features to deliver a PC with outstanding performance on heavy multi-media tasks.”

Part of worry-free computing means offering customers increased system performance while they are running multiple applications at the same time. Often, running a variety of power-consuming applications simultaneously, such as video editing and full PC virus scans, can create a lag time for users. This time can mean lost productivity and frustration. The J115 desktop helps resolve these issues by increasing processor performance by as much as 80 percent compared with single core models.

The J115 desktop utilizes up to 4GB of DDR2 memory and a 250GB 7200 rpm SATA Hard Drive with the potential to support up to 500GB. This, combined with the socket AM2 AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 dual-core processor, boosts energy efficiency, resulting in a cooler, quieter-running system with reliable performance.

“By leveraging the outstanding performance and value of the AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core processor, Lenovo can deliver a system ideally suited for demanding small-business computing environments where reliability, energy efficiency and performance are of the utmost importance,” said Bob Brewer, corporate vice president, Desktop Division, AMD (NYSE: AMD). “We are pleased to support this second-generation Lenovo 3000 Series desktop, which is now available to customers around the world with the latest in AMD64 technology and primed for future operating systems.”

Unique safeguards to protect important data also come with the J115 as part of Lenovo’s worry-free computing experience. Other additional software applications are preloaded for extra safety and improved usability. The J115 desktop also automates many routine security and maintenance tasks though a unique set of Lenovo Care productivity tools. These tools help alleviate the need to call a dedicated IT help desk by offering a central location for essential PC tasks, such as:
