Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index is the national benchmarking tool on corporate policies, practices and benefits pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer employees.
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC – January 28, 2021 – Lenovo announced today that, for the fourth consecutive year, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation gave the company a perfect score of 100 on the 2021 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s premier benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality.
Lenovo is one of 767 major businesses spanning nearly every industry and geography which earned a top score of 100 and the distinction as a “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality”.
Qualification for the index is based upon a company’s adoption of LGBTQ-related policies and practices, including non-discrimination, workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBTQ community.
“Our culture of inclusion is fundamental to who we are,” says Calvin Crosslin, Lenovo’s Chief Diversity Officer and president of the Lenovo Foundation. “It’s the diversity of our talent that fuels our ability to create smart, inclusive technology for a diverse world of consumers – and creating a workplace environment that supports and honors people from all backgrounds is how we make that happen.”
Lenovo is recognized for its progressive employee benefit options, including Gender Transition Support through medical, mental health, and pharmacy policies. In 2019, Lenovo added a new U.S. LGBTQ employee resource group (ERG) “PRIDE” – Professionals Respecting Identity, Diversity and Empowerment. In 2020, PRIDE expanded to incorporate chapters in Latin America in Brazil and Argentina. These employee community groups, in addition to “Diversitas” located in Bratislava, are regular participants in corporate and local events around LGBTQ celebrations.
