Lenovo Introduces Its First Worldwide PCs featuring Olympic Games Composite Logo

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – July 24, 2007 – Lenovo today rolled out two new Olympic Games-inspired PCs to its Lenovo 3000 desktop line. The newly designed silver and black Lenovo 3000 J200 and J205 tower desktops are the first Lenovo PCs to be distributed worldwide displaying the Lenovo Olympic Games composite logo, which features the brand name and the Olympic Rings, in support of the company’s worldwide sponsorship of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

“The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games provides an opportunity to showcase our best engineered PCs to the world”, said Dilip Bhatia, Executive Director, Global Desktop Marketing Management, Lenovo. “We’ve designed our latest Lenovo 3000 desktops with that spirit in mind displaying the Lenovo Olympic Games composite logo along with a new, stylish design and including the features a small business needs to stay productive like high performance and excellent management capabilities.”

The introduction of the desktops coincides with the one-year-out countdown to the Olympic Games which starts in August 2008. As part of its worldwide sponsorship, Lenovo is the exclusive computing equipment supplier for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Virtually every aspect of the management of the Games, from gathering and storing participant data to displaying the scores to organizing all activities of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games, depends on the hardware provided by Lenovo.

Lenovo Dresses Up the Desktop Inside and Out Designed for the small business user to bridge the gap between work and home, the new desktops’ unique and stylish black and silver exterior balances the traditional black color of business with the excitement and energy of the color silver associated with home and lifestyle use. Not only do the desktops sport a redesigned exterior, they’ve been designed with the latest technologies inside for an easy, reliable and productive computing experience.

The Lenovo 3000 J200 desktops come equipped with Intel-based processors while the Lenovo 3000 J205 desktops feature AMD-based processors. The desktops also include Gigabit Ethernet, integrated graphics, six USB ports, a chassis intrusion lock and PC lock slot. Additionally, the desktops feature optional 9-in-1 media bay and DVD multiburner along with TPM 1.2 data encryption on select models.

Lenovo’s suite of productivity tools, Lenovo Care Tools, helps the small-to-medium business user manage the PC easily with automatic updates, one button system recovery and password management, giving an unparalleled value for the computing performance.

Lenovo offers a broad portfolio of PCs that meet the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star 4.0 standard, including the new Lenovo 3000 desktops. These desktops feature 80 percent efficient power supplies to help reduce energy usage and costs for customers over previous generation models.
