MORRISVILLE, October 16, 2019 – Lenovo has been rated AA by the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency, the rating agency behind the Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Index, and achieved the best overall score in the IT industry. This is the ninth consecutive year that Lenovo has been included in this ranking, showing Lenovo’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. This year’s rankings featured 30 Hong Kong listed companies from 10 different industries.
The HSCSI is a Hong Kong Stock Exchange recognized index and useful indicator for investors seeking socially responsible companies to include in their portfolios. The selection process involves an evaluation of a company’s practices in key sustainability areas such as corporate governance, observance of human rights and labor practices, impact on the environment, and community involvement and development.

Lenovo’s commitment to upholding sustainable environmental and social practices is evident in the milestones achieved in the past year. Lenovo achieved a 92 percent reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions globally in FY 2018/19 verses our FY2009/10 baseline, while driving innovations in packaging design to reduce waste by eliminating one-time use plastic tape from the bottom of our ThinkPad packaging. Further, this year marked the launch of the Lenovo Foundation whose mission is to empower diverse and underserved communities through increasing access to STEM education.
