MORRISVILLE, NC – January 24, 2019 – Lenovo has been named among FORTUNE Magazine’s World’s Most Admired Companies. A global ranking that includes companies from 52 different industries, with revenues of over $10BN.  Out of a sub-category of 15 companies in the computer industry Lenovo was one of only eight companies to meet the ‘Most Admired’ status.

Rankings are based on an extensive survey of executives, directors and financial analysts asked to rate companies in their own industry on nine reputation attributes including innovation, people management, use of corporate assets, social responsibility, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment, quality of products/services and global effectiveness. Lenovo scored well in particular against innovation, quality of management and global competitiveness.

“Being admired like this by FORTUNE’s ranking is a privilege – what CEO wouldn’t want their company to be admired by others?” said Yang Yuanqing, Chairman and CEO of Lenovo. “But this is just one ranking. As an organization we have a wider duty and responsibility in the world today and for me admiration goes deeper than the nine attributes we see in this FORTUNE ranking. We are thinking about admiration as it relates to trust – arguably the most important measure of reputation. We’re also focused on how we inspire our customers and do our best for them every day – our most important critics.  And finally it’s about the value we bring to the world – the shared economic benefit and cultural exchange that we foster.”

FORTUNE collaborated with Korn Ferry, a global management consulting firm, to compile this ranking of corporate reputation. Lenovo was also recently recognized by Brand Finance as one of the World’s Most Valuable Brands in a ranking released during this year’s World Economic Forum in Davos. Lenovo ranked number 340 this year, up from 444 in 2018.
