To support the drive for Hong Kong listed companies to become more sustainable and resilient, the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) created the Best Corporate Governance & ESG Awards, to highlight excellence and celebrate success.
Last week, Lenovo was awarded gold and named one of the city’s most sustainable companies. This is the ninth consecutive year Lenovo has received awards from the HKICPA.
With ESG at the top of the boardroom agenda, the HKICPA introduced this new top category this year, the Most Sustainable Companies Awards, to recognise businesses that are really excelling in both Corporate Governance and ESG.
The judges praised Lenovo for integrating Corporate Governance and ESG principles into its operation and the company’s commitment to conducting business legally, ethically, and with integrity. In addition, they felt that Lenovo’s ESG mission is clearly understood, and celebrated its progress and use of quantifiable targets making it easy for everyone to better understand the direction of its ESG plan and how effectively it is progressing against it.
