Three… Two… One… 🚀. We’re building a water-powered bottle rocket on this #StemAtHome.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Use your ruler to draw out three cardboard fins for the rocket. Cut out fins.
Use duct tape to attach your fins to the soda bottle.
Trace a circle and cut out to make the nose cone for your rocket.
Cut the circle halfway in diameter, so that you can fold it to make the nose cone shape.
Tape the nose cone to the bottle.
Insert a standard inflating needle through the cork. Make sure the needle comes out on the other side of the cork.
Fill the soda bottle 1/3 full of water.
Insert the cork into the mouth of the soda bottle.
Pump the soda bottle full of air.
Blast off!
Congratulations on making your water-powered rocket. We hope you enjoyed learning about reaction force. Be sure to share your rocket with #StemAtHome.
